IFX Spain Players finishing Season at Barcelona’s football club

Players in Barcelona, Zaragoza and Cadiz, Spain enjoy an authentic Spanish football experience

After arriving in Spain in early September, IFX Youth Year and Pro IFX Year players quickly began their football adventures. For the first several weeks, IFXers underwent club trials to be evaluated by the coaches of IFX partner clubs, ultimately determining where they would play for the 2014-15 campaign. With players located in various cities including in the Barcelona region, Zaragoza as well as on the Andualusian coast in Cádiz, IFX players have enjoyed a great mix of Spanish football authenticity.

Highlighting a few IFX Spain players, Sean Taylor, an 18 year old striker from Southern California signed for formidable Catalonian U19 side Sabadell Nord CF for the season. Taylor has already made several appearances, and after 8 matches they sit just two wins out of first place in fifth position.

Aden Ohayon, an 18 year old midfielder from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has earned a spot with well respected CF Espluguenc’s U19s for the season. Espluguenc has been having extremely strong results so far this campaign sitting in third position with 20 points after 9 games.

Evan Hughes, a 16 year old center back, native of Oakland, California, has signed for the football club FC Sant Quirze of Barcelona.

Charlie Hunter, a 19 year old right back from Nova Scotia, was quickly offered a spot to play for Barcelona football Amateur side CF Arenys de Mar. After 13 matches played, Arenys sits mid-table with 21 points.

Jonathan May, a 17 year old goalkeeper from Texas, signed in early October for Barcelona football club CF Alzamora, who are battling for points to pull out of relegation zone.

In Zaragoza, two IFXers, Talin Fuchs from Eugene, Oregon and Samuel Casad from Seattle, Washington found their home with top Zaragozan club CD Oliver.

Cádiz, Spain is the new home to 18 year old Robert Montanaro, a goalkeeper from Belmont, Massachusetts. Montanaro has anchored the defense of Gaditanan club Tiempo Libre since October, helping secure the squad a solid top third table position of fourth place after 12 games with 22 points.
